Friends of the
Oregon Symphony

The Friends of the Oregon Symphony is the primary volunteer arm of the Oregon Symphony Association.  Its purpose is to support the Symphony by volunteering time in support of its programs and by fundraising to support its financial health.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Serving as docents to prepare students for their full orchestra Youth Concert experience
  • Ushering at the Youth Concerts
  • Conducting Back Stage Tours of the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall
  • Providing office support when needed
  • Participating in fundraising projects
  • Attending fun, informative social activities

Parties of Note - Fundraisers for the Oregon Symphony

Presented by the Friends of the Oregon Symphony Urban Chapter, this exciting series of intimate concerts take place on Friday nights at 7:30pm. The featured Oregon Symphony musicians have graciously donated their ideas, time and talent for these house parties and guests love the music as much as getting acquainted with some of their favorite symphony players! Your ticket price helps support a wonderful organization while you enjoy wine, heavy hors d’oeuvres and dessert.

Celebrating the 17th and 18th Century

Tim Scott turns back the hands of time with an event showcasing the glorious past of both the cello and the viola de gamba.  This evening of great music will not only entertain you but you may learn a bit as well.

Held at the glamorous West Hills home of Carey and Cam Wiley.

Trombonists Charles Reneau and Robert Taylor are joined by violinist Erin Furbee as they treat us to an evening of boisterous Latin music. A perfect start to the Mother's Day weekend!

Mt. Tabor Chapter:
Tulip Sale

April 5-6, 2012

Fresh from the fields tulips will be available for sale on Thursday, April 5th and Friday, April 6th at 5631 S.E. Madison in the Mt. Tabor neighborhood from 9: a.m. to 6: p.m.

Tulips come in a rainbow of colors, ten stems per bunch and will sell for only $6.00 per bunch. The tulips are grown and supplied by our local Oregon company, The Wooden Shoe Tulip and Bulb Co. of Woodburn, OR.

To guarantee availability for large orders, pre-orders of ten or more bunches may be arranged by calling Paula Johannsen at 503‑788‑3961. Please place your pre-orders before April 1st.
